Yesterdays Bread Gives A Helping Hand In Baltimore Maryland

With Thanksgiving here now this week and Christmas just around the corner we have more and more families finding it harder to make ends meet. I want to tell you a little bit about Brigid a friend of mine. She has site she is running called Yesterdays Bread where she helps the families in our own area that need a helping hand.

Brigid goes to several stores in our area and gets day old bread as well as other items like vegetables from the farmers in our area. Items they can not use any more because it did not sell. Brig goes and picks up these items with her 2 girls and her son. She transport them back home sorts the items out and begins handing them out to families that need bread or fresh vegetable Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays from 1pm till 6pm. She has a small jar there for donations to help with the cost of gas and items she may buy so everyone can have something that day. Brig gives her time and does not get paid for what she is doing.

Brig helps feed the families in Baltimore Country and Baltimore City each week. She is collecting cloths, shoes and toys this year for over a 170 needy kids and list just keeps growing as she tells me. "170 kids registered with more applications coming in every day. An yes we need adult sizes too.

I have been working like mad picking everything up the last couple of weeks, we got approved by toys for tots which is a good thing will allow us to help more kids, but there is such a need you wouldn't believe. Anything and everything will be used.
